Synopsis

After an unexpected accident, a woman wakes up in a house full of strangers. The men endlessly explain to her, until she reaches the end of her tether and finally explodes. This satire on gender and social myth powerfully twists the horror genre.

Program Note

A couple hit the road at night after meeting the man’s parents. After an unexpected accident, they wake up in a house full of strange men. As the title suggests with a newly coined term ‘mansplain,’ which means that men try to teach everything to women in a condescending and patronizing manner in a belief that they are better than women, this film is about the story of a woman confronting male chauvinism with massacre. Seen from outside, it falls into a zombie horror genre featuring the escape from male zombies. A simple scene that satirizes a woman confused between maternal instinct and independence and a man thoughtless of gender inequality issue is enough to show its deeper insight into practical problems of gender inequality.
